MaryAnn,
As I mentioned to you today: now I know where Aaron came from :). Aaron had so much of you - I see in the both of you similar personalities and strength. You have done beautifully in this life to have graced us with him. You ought to be proud.
My heart goes out to you in this most difficult time.

Kai,
Your amazing prep work helped make the memorial service a huge success. The DVD, audio/visuals, the program/bulletin - all were top-notch.

Brian,
As always, you elevate communication to an art form. Your eulogy was poetic, enlightening, and the finest of sermons.

Kai and Brian,
As usual, your teamwork creates inspiring service to others.

All,
It was wonderful seeing you. I wish to see you again in brighter times.

thinking of you,

I thought the ceremony was heartbreaking and beautiful. I won’t embarrass people and go into detail about who said what that made me cry, except to say that each of us would be twice blessed to be half as well remembered.

The words spoken immediately caused me to examine my own life—and what I’ve done with the years I’ve so far been given—and has shaken me think seriously on how to become a better human, and what action I can take for my friends and the world. I believe to act otherwise would shame Aaron’s memory.

Thanks to Brian for sharing this song
From David Crosby’s If I Could Only Remember My Name

What are Their Names

I wonder who they are
The men who really run this land
And I wonder why they run it
With such a thoughtless hand
Tell me what are their names
And on what street do they live
I'd like to ride right over
This afternoon and give
Them a piece of my mind
About peace for mankind
Peace is not
An awful lot
To ask

I wish us all way more than luck,

--Dan

Aaron's Memorial Service was an extraordinary experience. Anyone who is remembered with so much love has lived his life well. I knew Aaron as a friend of course, but also as an outstanding cannibis activist. Aaron is to be remembered as the admirable and likeable person he was, but let's also remember him as one of the great grassroots contributors to the cause of human freedom.

I meet Aaron once and we spoke for a brief period. What I do remember of Aaron was that he had one of those faces that said he loved everyone. He may not have even remembered me but I always remember a face and the force behind it. Until I watched the video I didn’t realize how much spunk he had but it sure makes since and fits him well. I am sorry for your loss and loss of everything Aaron brought into your life. Just know that Aaron will go on in each and every life he has impacted. God Bless You.
